My professional experience includes teaching at the University of Illinois, serving as staff at an community organizing alliance, being the Executive Director of a Habitat for Humanity affiliate, and serving all that is holy as the first female and first queer senior pastor at two congregations in the United Church of Christ (a non-creedal Christian denomination pushing the boundaries of radical inclusion).
So I have spent a lot of time with people in crisis, people who are being actively oppressed, people who are curious, people who are fearful, people who are being born, people who are dying. And I have confronted a great deal of sexism and homophobia in myself and in response to my self.
(Please note that I offer reduced rates for those whose life chances and earning capacity have been reduced or limited due to queerphobia, racism, and the legacy of American chattel slavery.)
From all of that, and my own spiritual journey, I have come to understand that each person is gifted with a holy wisdom.
I have come to understand that the human condition is greatly improved through rituals that mark significant life events.
I have come to understand that we are part of wilderness and can still hear creation's song.
Through spiritual direction/companionship, life stage/threshold rituals, forest therapy, class, or all four, I come alongside others build meaning, find direction, lament and rejoice, and learn the language of the more-than-human world.
I am reverential of a holiness that transcends all human efforts to contain and control, including religion.
Join me in holding divine love both lightly and dearly that we might do the same for each other and our one, precious planet.
